Firefighter In Intensive Care After 18-Wheeler Semi-Truck Accident
A Pine Wood volunteer firefighter is in intensive care after being hit by an 18-wheeler while at the scene of a tanker explosion near Sour Lake. The driver of the 18-wheeler tanker truck was cited for the accident. The volunteer firefighter suffered very traumatic injuries to the left side of her body leading to the amputation of her left arm.

18-Wheeler Truck Struck By Train In Schertz
Luckily no one was seriously injured in what officials are describing as a 18-wheeler semi-truck and train accident. The wreck occurred when a train carrying coal slammed into a 18-wheeler hauling a large construction crane after the semi and its cargo had gotten stuck on the tracks. No one was seriously injured however, the conductor of the train was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
It is unknown how long the semi-truck was stuck on the tracks and why he didn't call for help instead of trying to fix the problem himself. Members of the crew of the train say the driver of the 18-wheeler was rocking the semi truck back and forth trying to dislodge it from the train tracks. Officials were relieved that the train didn't derail which could have caused massive damages and loss of life.

Robertson County 18-Wheeler Wreck Closes Bridge
A Robertson County bridge was closed for hours while officials cleaned up hundreds of gallons after an 18-wheeler wreck. The semi-truck crash damaged the bridged and the driver of the 18-wheeler tractor trailer was taken by helicopter from the scene. The status of the driver is unknown and TxDOT officials believe the bridge will open back up Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
I-40 18-Wheeler Crash Kills Two
New Mexico State Police are investigating an 18-wheeler crash which took the lives of two and injured four others on I-40 just west of Albuquerque. Officials believe the accident occurred when a minivan struck a semi and then crossed into eastbound lanes and collided with another semi truck. The driver of the semi truck was uninjured. Traffic on I-40 was backed up for hours.

Texas DPS to Target Dangerous Commercial Trucks
The Texas DPS has had good success since their enforcement program has began, with an estimated 66,000 unsafe trucks being taken off the roads and an estimated 12,000 commercial truck drivers as well. Since its inception the DPS commercial vehicle enforcement personnel have inspected an estimated 331,505 commercial vehicles. According to an DPS official commercial vehicles are responsible for 15% of fatalities in Texas crashes. The enforcement dubbed "Operation Texas Thunder" has no doubt prevented accidents and saved lives.

I-40 18-Wheeler Wreck Kills Two
Officials continue to investigate a fatal I-40 18-wheeler tractor trailer wreck near Albuquerque, New Mexico on Sunday, November 06, 2011. The accident occurred when a 18-wheeler tractor trailer truck hit and smashed a van from behind. The force of the impact crushed the back of the mini-van all the way to the rear seats. Officials say two people lost their lives and five others were injured. The driver of the 18-wheeler truck was hurt by his injuries but it didn't appear to be serious.

18-Wheeler Semi-Truck Wreck Caused By Driver Who Feel Asleep
The I-81 was shut down for hours after an 18-wheeler semi-truck wreck which caused two to be taken to the hospital. Officials say that the wreck occurred when the 18-wheeler truck driver had fallen asleep at the wheel.
