Application Deadline for Kathy Ryan Rural Fire and Rescue Endowment Fast Approaching
The deadline to file an application with the Amarillo Area Foundation for the Kathy Ryan Rural Fire and Rescue Endowment Fund is fast approaching. The deadline for all application is December 1, 2011 with the announcement of the recipient usually occurring March of the following year. The Kathy Ryan Rural Fire and Rescue Endowment Fund was established to honor the bravery of Kathy Ryan, a Borger grandmother, who lost her life while trying to rescue her elderly neighbors during the March 12, 2006, Borger Wildfire. Her children and the Amarillo law firm of Lovell, Lovell, Newsom & Isern, L.L.P wanted to honor her heroism and support fire and rescue personnel in the Texas Panhandle by establishing this endowment.

2011 Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure Has Record Breaking Attendance
The 2011 Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure event was a record breaking day for the foundation in Amarillo as over 6,500 people showed up to walk, run or support the foundation. Nearly three quarters of the money raised stays in Amarillo to provide research, diagnostics, screening and treatment for uninsured or under-insured women.

The Amarillo law firm of Lovell, Lovell, Newsom & Isern, L.L.P would like to congratulate all those who showed up in support of such a great cause. Together we can do out part to stomp out this deadly disease which truly affects everyone.
