Application Deadline for Kathy Ryan Rural Fire and Rescue Endowment Fast Approaching
The deadline to file an application with the Amarillo Area Foundation for the Kathy Ryan Rural Fire and Rescue Endowment Fund is fast approaching. The deadline for all application is December 1, 2011 with the announcement of the recipient usually occurring March of the following year. If interested please check out the endowment page at the links provided below.
The Kathy Ryan Rural Fire and Rescue Endowment Fund was established to honor the bravery of Kathy Ryan, a Borger grandmother, who lost her life while trying to rescue her elderly neighbors during the March 12, 2006, Borger Wildfire. Her children and the Amarillo law firm of Lovell, Lovell, Newsom & Isern, L.L.P wanted to honor her heroism and support fire and rescue personnel in the Texas Panhandle by establishing this endowment.

Law Firm Announces Hiring Of New Associate
The Amarillo Law firm of Lovell, Lovell, Newsom & Isern, L.L.P is pleased to announce the addition of Brian Farabough as an associate with the firm. Mr. Farabough is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he received his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude. He also holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business. Concurrently, Mr. Farabough earned his Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.

Kevin Isern Speaking On Behalf Of Endowment
Kevin Isern of the Amarillo law firm Lovell, Lovell, Newsom & Isern, L.L.P will be speaking on behalf of the Kathy Ryan Rural Fire and Rescue Endowment at the Clarendon Noon Lions Club on October 11, 2011.
The Kathy Ryan Rural Fire and Rescue Endowment was created to honor the heroism of Kathy Ryan, a 64 year old grandmother from Borger who lost her life while attempting to rescue her elderly neighbors during the March 12, 2006 Borger wildfire. The Endowment supports training for rural firefighters and rescue personnel from throughout the Texas Panhandle.

2011 Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure Has Record Breaking Attendance
The 2011 Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure event was a record breaking day for the foundation in Amarillo as over 6,500 people showed up to walk, run or support the foundation. Nearly three quarters of the money raised stays in Amarillo to provide research, diagnostics, screening and treatment for uninsured or under-insured women.
Lovell, Lovell, Newsom & Isern, L.L.P was proud and honored to participate in the 2011 Susan G. Komen race for the cure which was held on Saturday September 24, 2011. The Amarillo law firm of Lovell, Lovell, Newsom & Isern, L.L.P would like to congratulate all those who showed up in support of such a great cause. Together we can do our part to stomp out this deadly disease which truly affects everyone.

Komen race which raises money for research and treatment of breast cancer. Since its inception in 1982, the foundation has invested nearly 2 billion dollars for breast cancer research, education, advocacy, health services and social support programs in the United States.

Congratulations to Joe L. Lovell
Congratulations to Joe L. Lovell for riding 102 miles in the Wild West Ride 2011. The Wild West Ride raises funds to benefit Multiple Sclerosis research. Some 200 cyclists took to the road for the two day 150 mile Wild West Ride 2011 from Amarillo to Canadian. The Wild West Ride 2011 raised more than 120,000 as part of Bike MS.

Local Attorney Hits The Road for Multiple Sclerosis
Joe L. Lovell of Lovell, Lovell, Newsom & Isern, L.L.P has accepted a challenge this weekend to ride his bike from Amarillo to Canadian Texas. Mr. Lovell will be participating in the Wild West Ride 2011, which raises funds and awareness for the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. The Wild West Ride is presented by BP and is a two day fundraising bike ride organized by the National MS Society. In 2010, the 150 mile Amarillo to Canadian bike ride raised more than 100,000 for MS research.

Deborah Reeves Named Partner In Amarillo Law Firm

National Collective Action Certified
Tim Newsom with Amarillo law firm Lovell, Lovell, Newsom & Isern, LLP and Jeremi Young with The Young Law Firm, PC have persuaded a Federal Court in Kentucky to certify a national collective action against military contractor Serco, Inc. for failing to pay overtime to its military recruiters. Persons employed by Serco as a Military Recruiter I or Military Recruiter II may be eligible to join the case if they were employed during a certain timeframe, though the specific dates that will be included have not yet been decided.
